John Lennon’s Jukebox

I don’t know how I missed John Lennon’s Jukebox on PBS, but I learned of the show from some clips I found on YouTube. For anyone that doesn’t know what this is about, John purchased a Swiss KB Discomatic in 1965 and filled it with 41 singles. The disks were all labeled with John’s handwriting. More information about this can be found at Wikipedia and PBS. The songs give us some great insight into songs that influenced John and the Beetles.

Some things that I found interesting:

Here are a few clips from the documentary.

Booker T & the MGs – Bootleg

Donovan – Turquoise

Bobby Parker – Watch Your Step

Gene Vincent – Be-Bop-A-Lula

To view more of these videos from the documentary, visit Hilton1949′s videos on YouTube (note: not all these videos are from the Jukebox).
