Top 24 – Girls

Three of the girls picked songs from my recommendations.  And, in my opinion, all three performances were in the top 6.  When it comes to the 60’s or 70’s, they really need to  run their song choices by me!

  • Alexandrea Lushington – Blood, Sweat and Tears – Spinning Wheel
  • Ramiele Malubay – Dusty Springfield – You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me
  • Asia’h Epperson – Big Brother with Janis Joplin – Piece of My Heart

Amy or Kady should have tried The Look of Love – Diana Krall version (done in the 60’s by Sergio Mendez and Brazil66 and by Dusty Springfield).

  1. I absolutely loved Mulabay. What a find. Lushington surprised the hell out of me – she’s got real potential. I’ve liked Epperson since auditions.

Have a fondness for the Cruella DeVille chick, Overmeyer, just because she too, sits her own ride – talking motorcycles here – and she is a rocker. (I love my motorcycle.) For a moment I thought I was watching Rock Star when she hit the stage. As you saw, Simon completely did not get the song. He’s limited when it comes to much in music. He knows talent, to a degree but he’s not a real music scholar. ha.

  2. Forgot to add, you are right on the Diane Krall call.
